With the registration deadline looming this week Grant Black has been looking to add strength to the squad for the remaining games.

Reserve team goalkeeper Matt Brooke has signed Evo-Stik Forms to add cover for Leigh Overton, Brookes, also a coach within the Junior set up has impressed Black with his performances for John Frances in the reserves and is confident that should the need arise he will be an excellent stand in for Overton.

Returning to the club is former Leeds United and Scuntorpe defender Isaac Assenso.
The elegant defender finished alst season at the club before signing for Hartlepool United on a short term contract. Pools manager Craig Higgnett is a massive fan of Assenso, but injury spoiled his time at Victoria Park and he has been allowed to leave to get some much required game time.

Assenso made his second debut at the weekend, and like his first debut v Darlington last year he was in the thick of the action, but this time for all the wrong reasons. A goal on his frist debut was followed with a red card thanks to two cautions this time round as the Reds beat Colwyn Bay.

Grant Black is delighted that Assenso has decided to return to Ossett Town saying “He has come back like a Rolls Royce, he wants to get back into the professional game and we are delighted he feels we can help him do this, it is a great move for the club, he has clearly learnt a lot since he was last here, there is no reason why another full time club won’t pick him up”.

With three days before the registration deadline passes Black has other irons in the fire but has confirmed no one is likely to be leaving the club, this is the first season in a number of years where no players have left the club through the season against the managers wishes.
