Outside priorities mean Clive Freeman has tonight left the club

Clive Freeman today informed the Ossett Town committee that he will be stepping down from his role as Assistant Manager at the football club due to work and family commitments.

John Reed wasted no time in announcing that player coach Dave Merris has been promoted to take over the position.

Ossett Town will be looking to appoint a first team coach in due course and an announcement will be made when this is confirmed.

Ossett Town Chairman, James Rogers said "I would like to put on record my thanks to Clive for the tireless work he has done since arriving with John in February of this year. We are disappointed to lose a man of his stature in the game but fully understand and respect his reasons for making this decision.

Clive Freeman will be welcome back to the club at anytime".
