We host fellow Evo-Stik North side Goole who, after a tough start to the season, have found form in recent weeks thanks to a first victory of the season over Tadcaster Albion, and although they went down 2-0 in the week to league leaders South Shields they came away with many plaudits.
If a replay is required that will take place on Tuesday 10 October, but if there is a positive result on Saturday we will host Campion on the opening round of the West Riding County Cup.
The NCEL First division side have just signed former Ossett Town forward Joel Hughes from Yorkshire Amateur who will team up with another former Ingfielder, Danny Cunningham, who has seven goals this season
Campion currently occupy fourth place in the NCEL First Division and have won seven points from their last four games.
Next weekend see’s once of the biggest games for the club in recent times, as we travel to National League side Solihull Moors in the Fourth and final qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup.
We last faced them in 2011 in the FA Trophy, a 2-2 draw at Damson Park with goals from Niall O’Brien and Lee Garside earned a replay at Ingfield, but The Moors proved too strong, progressing 1-0.
This season they have had a tough start to life in the National League and currently sit second bottom, four points from safety. Their manager, Liam McDonald, has this week left the club and replaced with the experienced former Walsall, Luton Town and Cambridge United manager will be keep to put his stamp on the side ahead of the FA Cup game.
Next up is Goole again, subject to the FA Cup tie not being a draw, this time in the first round of the Integro Cup and again here at Ingfield. We have faced the Vikings a number of times in cup competitions in recent seasons, winning in the FA Cup last season and this competition the year before.
Cup games are coming thick and fast at the minute, the next Evo-Stik North game is not pencilled in until 21 October, when we will host Bamber Bridge. Currently second in the league they have had a great start to the season with 26 points from 11 games, two more than we have played and we will be further behind when this game kicks off.
Saturday 28 October is a potential FA Trophy game, ourselves or Goole will host Ossett Albion or Droylsden in the first qualifying round.
