Ossett Town are delighted to announce the appointment of Jon Scargill to the vitally important role of Commercial Manager.

I'm delighted to welcome Jon as he comes back to the 4G Voice & Data Stadium for his third spell at the club

Ossett Town can today announce the appointment of Jon Scargill.

Jon is no stranger to Ossett Town as this is now his third spell at the club, joining originally as a junior he returned in the 1990’s and was first choice keeper for a number of years, including the season the club won promotion to the Northern Premier League and was between the sticks when the club unluckily lost 1-0 at home to Doncaster Rovers in the FA Trophy in 1999. A game that frustrates Scargill to this day as he only touched the ball once, picking it out of the net, and was given just 4/10 in the paper after the game!

Scargill will be looking to raise the profile of the Football Club, increase the Commercial Income and also ensure Kelly’s Sports Bar is used to its full potential, the latter, he will work closely with the clubs fundraising committee.

Jon has been working behind the scenes for a couple of weeks on a number of initiatives. John is also working closely with the Juniors and soon we will be jointly launching a Dream Team competition to run along side the Last Man Standing game - more details to follow shortly.

John Scargill said “I am extremely excited to return to the Club that launched me as a footballer, and am looking forward to being a part of a forward-thinking team that can fulfil John Carter's promise of delivering the 'Best Level Possible' for the people of Ossett and our Club. Hopefully, I will be able to achieve the ten out of ten rating off the pitch that eluded me as a player”!

James Rogers, Chairman added "I'm delighted to welcome Jon as he comes back to the 4G Voice & Data Stadium for his third spell at the club, this time helping behind the scenes. John's enthusiasm is infectious and I look forward to him being part of the team and putting into place many great ideas and fund raising initiatives."
