A late and challenging friendly has been added to our fixture list, at home to Leeds United u23s on Tuesday 22 August, kick-off 7.30pm.
Admission will be £5 adults and for £3 concessions.
In 2013 Brian McDermott brought a Leeds side to Ingfield that included players who went on to make a name for themselves in the EFL & Premier League such as Charlie Taylor (now Burnley), Lewis Cook (now Bournmouth) and Alex Mowatt (now Barnsley) who scored the opening goal as well as Ryan Hall who scored an equaliser for the Whites from the penalty spot in the 2-2 draw.
The game, played in front of almost 1000 supporters saw goals for Ossett Town by Andrew Fox and Ryan Qualter as Town lead 2-1 at half time. The game was a good workout for Ossett Town who went on to finish a respectable eighth in the Evo-Stik League that season.
Leeds United have a history of producing quality players from their academy, this will be an excellent opportunity for Ossett Town to challenge themselves against professional opposition, while supporters have the opportunity to spot the next David Batty, Alan Smith or James Milner.
