it is yet another memory to add to the bank and will live on with me, the Town support was superb
- Danny Frost

Talisman Danny Frost, with 17 goals this season, is rarely out of the headlines and whilst he did not get a goal himself last night he played a key part as Ossett Town took the lead at Queensgate against an inform Scarborough Athletic.

His never say die attitude saw him chase down Scarborough’s Niall Flint who tried to see the ball out of play, this error of judgment was punished as Frost nicked the ball to Jason Yates who cut in from a tight angle to breach the Scarborough defence for the first time in eight games.

“The whole evening was unreal” said Frost “it is yet another memory to add to the bank and will live on with me, the Town support was superb”.

Whilst Yates will rightly get the headlines for the brace of goals it is Steve Ridley, who combines playing duties with being Grant Blacks number two, who stood out for Frost “all the lads were top draw, but Ridley for me, a little jack Russell, was on the end of everything. Credit too to Yatesy for the penalty. As everyone knows we have missed about eight this season, it took some confidence to step up and smash it home, especially at 1-1”

Frost says there is no pressure on Town as they head into the play-off final on Saturday “the lads are flying, team spirit is unreal and no one expected us to be in the play-offs, let alone the final. We will go there and give it everything, it is a cup final at the end of the day”

Scarborough Athletic had a crowd of over 1000 on Tuesday night, of that number around 70 made the trip from Ossett, incredible really given home crowds were not much more than that a few years ago. This is something that is not lost on the current squad.

Frost says “The backslappers have been absolutely amazing. If it wasn't for you guys the last few months we wouldn't be where we are now. You all volunteer to help the club, spend your own coin to come and watch and scream at us” I just want u all to know from all the lads that we appreciate everything that the board and you fans do for us. Hopefully repay you with promotion”.

“We want the whole of Ossett at Farsley on Saturday”
