Game review for NPL North from 27th October....

Mossley increased their lead at the top of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier First Division North table to eight points after beating Lancaster City and seeing second-placed Clitheroe drop points against Farsley FC, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

At Seel Park, Kayde Coppin broke the deadlock by giving Mossley the lead four minutes into the second half against the Dolly Blues. And Sam Madeley maintained his good scoring form by adding the crucial second with 12 minutes remaining.

Clitheroe opened the door for Mossley to climb away when they were held to a goalless draw at Shawbridge against fourth-placed Farsley.

Elsewhere, Tony Evans bagged a brace as Curzon Ashton won 2-0 at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds against second-bottom Goole AFC. Evans' goals came on 13 and 22 minutes.

At Dimple Wells, Ossett Albion conceded a goal in the first minute of the match to Bamber Bridge's Andy Bell and should have saved a point with a penalty in the closing minutes but it was not to be.

The other games all ended in draws.

Bottom-markers Garforth Town picked up only their third point of the campaign to date in a 1-1 draw with Yorkshire neighbours Wakefield, whose Ross Hardaker gave them a 67th minute lead that Jevan Benjamin cancelled out a minute from time.

Third-bottom Harrogate Railway Athletic fell behind to an early second minute Jonathan Bathurst goal at Valerie Park against Prescot Cables.

However, it looked like they were heading for a third win of the campaign when they led with goals from Damian Hopkins in the 75th minute and Rob Youhill six minutes later, only for Jack Booth to rescue a point for Cables in stoppage time.

And at Stainton Park, Ben Wharton put hosts Radcliffe Borough ahead after just three minutes against Warrington Town.

Phil Doran equalised a minute before half-time and then the recently-returned Allan Collins put the Wire ahead on the hour-mark, only for Laquan Esdaille to level six minutes later.
