Match Report Saturday 1st September 2011
Ossett Town 0-2 Garforth Town
Saturday 1st October
Evostik Div 1 North - Att 87
Ossett Town 0-2 Garforth Town
Ossett Town went into this game only 3 points from a play off position, and wer up against a Garforth team who had hit 11 goals in their last two games.
Garforth who had four ex Town players in their squad looked the brighter with strikers Howarth & Walker causing problems to the Town defence, and it took 32 minutes for them to break through after Ossett didnt clear their lines Hunter scored to put Garforth 1-0 up.
Toronczak & Sanasy both had half chances at the other end but no joy, half time saw a 0-1 scoreline, and Ossett suffered another blow when left winger Hardaker, a creation of their youth system had to withdraw from sun-stroke. Town had already lost 3 players during the week, captain O'Brien and Thornton through injury and Joynes who returned to Matlock, and new signing striker Lee Garside was also on the tratment table.
Kyle Cook had the best oppurtunity in the second half for Ossett when he put a header wide, when it looked easier to score, but Garforth and in particular striker Walker were too strong, and it was no surprise when on
89 minutes it was Walker who put the score beyond doubt and made it 2-0.
Ossett Town have a home league fixture v Woodley Sports on Tuesday 7.45pm kick off, and on Saturday entertain their tenants Wakefield FC in the FA Trophy 3pm kick off.
