Ossett visited Cheshire high flyers Witton Albion with three defenders missing through injury and suspension, ass manager Eric Gilchrist had to pull all the stops out to get in a right back at the eleventh hour when Hyde Utd agreed to loan them ex Rochdale player Josh Brizell.
Town started brightly and carved out numerous chances, but Albion were very strong all over the pitch and on 33 minutes Newman put the into the lead after naiveity from the Town defence.
On 45 minutes Declan Normaschild was deemed to have fouled the Albion striker in the box and Danny Andrews made no mistake to send Albion 2-0 up at the interval.
The second half saw an onslaught of pressure from Witton and on 73 minutes Andrews got his second and Albions third, it only took one minute for Newman to make it four, and twelve minutes later the rout was confirmed when Buchan netted for Witton.
It was a bad away day for Town with goalkeeper Ash Connor getting man of the match.
