With players starting to come back from injury and suspension, Otley will be looking to maintain their unbeaten 2016-17 home record at Cross Green this weekend. While Preston did win their opening match up at Thresfield, four straight defeats suggests that the hosts may well be capable of making it five if we play to our strengths.

Otley did the double over Preston Grasshoppers last season, albeit by close scores, and a further win would give the hosts an edge in the overall position being 7-7.

Otley’s flag will be at half-mast tomorrow following the death of Craig Malir, who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on 25 September. Supporters are asked to arrive early as both teams will observe a minute’s silence before the game starts.

Craig was part of the very successful coaching team that inspires the Otley under 16's in such a way, that last April, they realised their stunning achievement of three Yorkshire Cup wins in three years at three different age groups. He was a devoted father to Joey, Sean Frank and Millie, loving husband to Ruth and just a 'top lad'. The Malir family have been heavily involved with Otley Rugby Club for decades, and Craig will be very sadly missed.
