To cap the Tour de Yorkshire – Otley 1st XV play Harrogate in a winner takes all game both in terms of league position and a path to the Yorkshire Cup semi-final.

Come on down to Cross Green to watch the cyclists power their way through Otley, there is plenty to enjoy for all the family both before and after the men’s race goes through. The roads are open between the races and will be cleared away from 3pm so access from Harrogate no problem. Make a day of it!!

Both clubs have featured in the Yorkshire Cup finals over the last couple of years, in the 2014-15 season Otley played Wharfedale in the final but, in an entertaining game at Wagon Lane, Otley narrowly lost 34-29. In last year’s final Harrogate beat Wharfedale 16-12 having beaten Otley in another double-header 10-20 earlier in the season. That win took Harrogate’s win total in the Yorkshire Cup to ten, one more than Otley’s. Whoever wins Saturday’s game will play Doncaster Phoenix away on Thursday 12 May.

It is a 5:30 kick off and we will be serving food throughout the day, there is a live band and a bouncy castle (for the children!)

And in the league it is everything to play for as Otley have the opportunity to overtake Harrogate and gain sixth position if they win on Saturday. Admittedly, Harrogate technically have two more league games to play this season. One has already been called off, Macclesfield have gained promotion and there is nothing for them in playing another game. If Sedgley Park win tomorrow, they will have secured the runners up slot and a further game could appear pointless – accepting that Harrogate could gain further points if it is played.
