In this Plate Final, played at Nant Conwy, the Goats failed to put in a match winning performance, and it was a resolute Caernarfon defence in the final period of play that held firm.
The early exchanges were evenly contested, with the Goats taking the lead after twenty five minutes with Rhys Henderson making a telling break well into the Caernarfon half, with Sam McClean being in support to take the try scoring pass, which Ryan Pike converted.
Caernarfon however hit back when from a quickly taken penalty, which took the Goats by surprise which saw there full back touch down for a try which he also converted.
This first half came to a close with the Goats going into the break with a two point lead.
The second half was one of a very evenly balance contest, but the key factor of this half was the number of penalties conceded by both teams, and it was Caernarfon who won this contest by converting two penalties to one, that won them this North Wales Plate.
