Following report kindly supplied by Dinbych RFC.

Dinbych's unbeaten run at the top of Division Two North was extended to ten matches with this thirteen try bonus point victory over Welshpool.

Yet the score did not reflect the spirited effort by the visitors who competed well in most aspects but who were overwhelmed by Dinbych's excellent handling and support play which made a mockery of the dreadful cold and wet conditions and a pitch which increasingly resembled a mud patch as the match progressed.

Dinbych's forwards had to show grit and determination to get the lion's share of possession up front against a fiercely competitive Welshpool pack. The backs then used this possession to good effect as they showed their power and pace to launch attacks at every opportunity to score all but one of the tries. Centre Owain Davies led the way crossing for five tries with right wing Aidyn Jones and outside half Dan O'Sullivan scoring a brace each with the latter also adding seven conversions. Other tries were scored by left wing Kieran Bonar, centre Tom Seddon, full back Gruff Roberts and lock David Haydock

Dinbych opened the scoring in the fourth minute when they worked their way upfield through several phases of play before Owain Davies broke through for his first try converted by Dan O'Sullivan. Aidyn Jones then followed up a neat diagonal chip by Dan O'Sullivan near half way and after forcing a misfield by a Welshpool defender, raced away to score an unconverted try.

Owain Davies then secured his hat trick of tries, the first after a good combined attack down the left which was converted by Dan O'Sullivan and the second again capitalising on a Welshpool defensive error as he ran in from 40 metres out.

Dinbych's final try of the half epitomised their excellent counter attacking play as they struck from long distance with Aidyn Jones going over in the corner after good play by Owain Davies and Gruff Roberts.

Leading by twenty nine points at the interval Dinbych continued to dominate both territorially and in possession despite Welshpool's determined resistance. They soon increased their lead when lock David Haydock went over near the posts after a crash ball run from a short range ruck leaving an easy conversion for Dan O'Sullivan.

Owain Davies then added his fourth try after another good attack with Aidyn Jones prominent. Dan O'Sullivan then went over for his first try after a powerful run by flanker Dan Lawrence had taken play just short of the Welshpool line.

Welshpool were still competing strongly but their attempts to break out of their half were halted in their tracks by strong Dinbych tackling around the fringes of set pieces and the breakdown area . Dinbych on the other hand were capitalising on good quality possession with hooker Chris Forshaw often instigating attacks with incisive breaks.

The hosts then added two converted tries in quick succession from Kieran Bonar and Tom Seddon with Dan O'Sullivan adding the conversion points to both. Dan O'Sullivan then went over in the corner for his second try after good approach play by Gareth Beach and Tom Seddon.

There was little respite for Welshpool and with time running out Dinbych scored two late tries when Gruff Roberts finished off another long range attack before Owain Davies closed the try scoring with his fifth try. Dan O'Sullivan converted both to cap a good goal kicking display in the difficult conditions.

Dinbych Seconds also had a successful day as they triumphed by 27 points to 5 away at Benllech in Division 3 North.
