IMPORTANT - PLAYER REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

This report is aimed at Club secretaries and anyone involved in the registration of players in Mini, Junior, Youth & Womens Rugby. Please make sure that the right person in your club receives this information

Over the last few the WRU has been communicating with all clubs with regards to changes to the registration process.

It has become apparent that several clubs have not had the information filtered to those that need it.

As of 1st September all players from Under 7s to Youth including Women are no longer eligible to play unless they re-register using the details below.

It is also fundamental that you know who in your club has the MyWRU contact email! As this person will have to authorise all players re-registering.

This process will happen every year from now on, it is advised as good practice that clubs have registration days to sort all of the admin out ahead of any September fixtures.

Secretaries will be responsible for issuing each age group lead coach or team manager with an up to date list of registered players. Coaches are still responsible for making sure that they check their players are Registered and also check the opposing team.

Below are some simple guidelines to help register a player.

All registrations are to be completed by the parent - GMG no longer does this on behalf of the club, photo cards and WRU A5 forms are no longer required and are replaced by the below process. The GMG are the only way to get players transferred. If this is required please direct them to rygbigogleddcymrugmg@gmail.com.

All current players have to re-register and follow the below process.
WRU Online Registration Procedure - New Players (to be completed by Parent/Guardian if under 18 years old)
1. Before proceeding, if your child has played for another club and/or is returning after a period of time away, please advise your child's team manager/coach of this in the first instance as your child may still be registered to the previous club/remain an active player.
2. You will need to have a photograph of your child for their registration profile uploaded onto your device, ready to use (head and shoulders shot). A photo is essential as you cannot process the player registration without it.
3. Please use this link to proceed with registering your child: beta.mywru.co.uk/Login
4. You will be directed to a MyWRU log in page. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click onto 'Register Player'
5. This will direct you to confirm your child's date of birth. Once this section's complete, click onto 'proceed'.
6. You will be directed to a 'MyWRU Junior Registration Form' page. Please fill in the boxes and ensure all details are accurate e.g. date of birth, name of player. (Please note - player registrations are separate and are not grouped together per family. If you have more than one child playing rugby, you will need to complete this procedure per individual child).
7. To upload a photograph of your child, you will see a white box directly beneath 'Player Photo Upload'. Click onto the white box and this will enable you to choose a photo from your files. Alternatively, you can drag the photo chosen across onto the white box and this will also work.
8. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and please ensure you accept 'tick' (click) the terms and conditions section (which starts with: 'To register as a player for the WRU and your chosen club...') Immediately below this is the 'Submit' button. Please check all is complete and accurate on the form before submitting. (If anything is incomplete and required, even if you press 'submit' the system will alert you to this).
9. Once you submit, a box will pop up stating 'Success!' 'You have re-registered for the season!' Press 'Ok' and that's it! Registration for the season (2018-19) is complete.
10. Finally, confirmation will be sent through via email from 'support@wru.wales' once the registration has been approved by the registration secretary and will look like this: 'Dear 'Player', Your club, xxxxxxxx RFC, has approved your player registration, as a reminder, you are to abide by the following conditions. You agree to abide by all the World Rugby Regulations WRU rules and regulations (which can be found here) and any other binding directives which may be issued from time to time. You have familiarised yourself with UK Anti Doping Guidelines and are aware of your liability as a player within Welsh Rugby. I will not accept any payment, whether in money or as payment in kind, by way of compensation for my agreement to play for my chosen club..
