Tropical storms swept through the region on Saturday and lead to the abandonment of most of the Cherwell League fixture list.

The 1st team game at Sandford was an early victim as the rain arrived after only 13 overs. In that time Nondies had lost 4 wickets for only 29 runs on a wicket offering help to the home teams attack. However, the news from Wolverton, where the only 2 teams below Nondies in the table were meeting, was eagerly awaited. When it came, it was the news that Nondies were hoping to hear. That match had also been washed out and that meant that Nondies will again be playing in Division 2 next season, what ever happens in next weekends fixtures.
The 2nd team suffered a very frustrating afternoon after bowling out visitors, Aston Rowant, for only 51. Magnificent bowling from Abdul 'Deebo' Saleem, 5 wickets and Mo Krish, 4 wickets, set up Nondies for a quick win. However, after scoring 10 runs from their only over, the rain set in and never relented long enough to allow a restart. However, 10 bonus points sees Nondies go into their final games with a 14 point lead over Sandford, whose game at bottom of the table Oxford, also fell victim to the weather. So, a good result at Bicester next weekend will see them take the leagues winners trophy.
The third team's last fixture ended in heavy rain and hail at Islip. Before the abandonment, a largely scratch team amassed 54 runs for 8 wickets on a wet surface. However, the joint top scorers were Jon and Will Guthrie, father and son batting together in league cricket for the first time, a happy occasion within the club!
