Oxford Lions Futsal Club become Oxford City Lions
Oxford City Football Club are pleased to announce that Oxford Lions Futsal Club who have enjoyed massive national success this year are to play under the banner of Oxford City Lions next season and become an integral part of the club. In our 130th season this will add another progressive dimension to Oxford City and further enhance our standing as an innovative and award winning Charter Standard Community Club.
The partnership will provide a solid base for the continued growth of futsal in Oxfordshire and the Oxford City Lions will now wear the famous hooped shirts of Oxford City. Futsal is a fast growing sport in this country designed to enhance ball skills and all the City youngsters will now have the opportunity to receive specialist futsal coaching and participation during their development at the club.
The Oxford Lions have been playing at the highest national level and recently beat Team United Birmingham 5 - 2 to win the Futsal Community Shield. In a fantastic debut season they were crowned Midlands Champions, FA Futsal Grand Finalists and Futsal Community Shield winners.
