Arsenal score draw
Pre season off to great start for u16s.
Having travelled up to London N5 pre the Olympics, Oxford city Fc u16 made the return leg of the journey to Play Arsenal development squad after the first leg ended with a 1-1 draw At court place farm.
so the game got under way in the summer sunshine and it was Oxford City that had the early chances that went begging, putting Arsenal under lots of pressure it wasn't long before before city got there reward when Ally Cameron went through 1v1 and was then taken down in the box,he then dusted himself off and stepped up to take the penalty to put city into a well deserved lead
0-1.
with both teams playing some high quality football and trying to break down each others defence.
it was city who went two up when a nice move then shot was deflected and Bradley Rowbotham volley home 0-2 .
soon after Arsenal put city under pressure resulting in the striker being pulled down in the box then stepping up too score from the spot 1-2.
In the second half off the game Arsenal played there lovely passing game but it was Oxford that scored the goal of the the day with some really neat football starting from the back into the midfield then passing from right to left then a little flick into the edge of box with Cameron scoring a pin point flick header into top corner,1-3
soon after city once again had a good attack seeing a shot come off the cross bar.with change of formation from both teams it was now Arsenal who took the upper hand and soon got a second with good shot inside the box then coming off the bar into the goal 2-3. with only minutes to hang on to the lead Oxford couldn't defend Arsenal pressure having put so much effort into the game the tired legs of Oxford couldn't get the ball away only for the Arsenal striker to make it 3-3.both teams ended with one last chance to win the game but both shot wide of the goal.
So in all a draw a fare result for both team ,but Oxford felt that the victory should have been theres only to be snatch away at the last moment.
After the match Oxford City had lunch then went on tour of the Emirates Stadium guest of Arsenal Fc .
" a great end to the day" and a great start to the season.
many thanks go's out to Arsenal FC coach Ben for all his help with a
great day out in London.
Regards Ox City fc
