The Manager Says...

4 years ago, By Chris Byrne

Justin Merritt reports...

We are looking forward to welcoming Binfield to Court Place Farm this Wednesday for our first home fixture of the season. We have managed to keep the majority of the playing group from last season and strengthened the squad with a couple of additions.
The new management set up is working well with Justin Lee and myself exchanging ideas and agreeing on a strategy and philosophy of play. Paul Davis is providing a valuable link with the youth players and supporting the team on a matchday.
The players made a positive start on Saturday on a difficult pitch at Cheltenham to secure our first three points of the season. The performance was slightly patchy and we have identified areas for improvement but also must highlight the positives of an away victory and 4 goals.
The aspirations for the season for the Nomads is to develop our young players on an individual basis and try and progress them through into Oxford City's first team squad, this development must not only look at the technical demands but also psychologically and tactically. We of course want to develop a team to compete and challenge in every match but I am particularly keen to see players express themselves and play in a positive attractive manner.
We all look forwards to a positive season for the Nomads.
