Welcome to the Under 12s Section at Oxford RFC
New Mini and Junior Rugby Season
The new season for Mini and Junior Rugby starts on Sunday 4th September with training commencing at 10.30am. With the World Cup starting soon this promises t be a very exciting season for Rugby as a whole and Mini and Junior rugby is a great way for kids to learn the game and spend a convivial Sunday morning developing physical and social skills which will benefit them for all time.
Doors will be open from 9.45am on Sunday 4th and Sunday 11th September to allow for new player registrations and membership renewals - for those registered last season membership packs have been sent by post to facilitate renewal. Newcomers are always very welcome at all Age Groups and can just turn up on any Sunday – we have new players joining us throughout the season. No special kit or equipment is needed to get started and new players always have taster sessions before needing to commit to membership. At Oxford RFC we run a thriving Mini and Junior section with almost 250 playing members catering for ages from Under 7s right through to Colts, with instruction provided by about 40 staff holding recognised appropriate coaching qualifications. Mini Age Groups Under 7 to Under 12 are mixed catering for both boys and girls, at Under 13 upwards boys and girls rugby is run separately.
The season runs from 4th September to 6th May with training and matches on Sundays from 10.30am until about noon, and for Junior Age groups midweek training as well.
