Paget Rangers face two tough away trips over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Paget Rangers will make two away trips over the Bank Holiday weekend to two of the favourites for promotion from the Midland Football League 1st Division.

Paget's first match sees the Bears return to St John's Park, home of Heather St. Johns, where Hinckley are the opponents on Saturday 26th August Kick off 3pm. The two sides have met once before where a record Paget crowd of 311 saw the Bears defeated by 4 goals to 1 in the FA Vase 2nd Round proper in November 2016.

Hinckley finished the 2016/17 MFL 1st Division season in 2nd place with a record of Played 38, Won 27, Drew 4, Lost 7, Scored 133, Conceded 47, Points 85.

Hinckley have started the season well recording victories in the FA Cup over Worksop Town (2-1) and Aylestone Park (4-1), as well as victories in the league over Stafford Town (2-1) and Nuneaton Griff (6-0). Hinckley have suffered one defeat so far in the league going down 4-1 at home to fellow title challengers Walsall Wood.

Paget come into this match in 18th place and looking to get back to winning ways following Saturday's narrow 1-0 defeat at Racing Club Warwick.

The second match of Paget's Bank Holiday schedule sees the Bears make the journey to Leicester Road. The Knitters are also hotly tipped to be promotion challengers this season and have started the MFL Divison 1 campaign with three straight wins which has included victories over Coventry Copsewood (2-1), Coventry Alvis (4-0) and Bolehall Swifts (2-0). Leicester Road also recorded a 2-1 win against Sleaford Town in the FA Cup before suffering defeat away at Grimsby Borough (1-4) in the Preliminary Round.

Paget have met Leicester Road twice before, in the Knitters first season in the MFL following formation. Paget recorded a 3-1 victory in the home tie before suffering defeat by two goals to nil at Leicester Road stadium as the Hinckley based club went onto achieve promotion that season.

Leicester Road finished the 2016/17 MFL 1st Division season in 3rd place with a record of; Played 38, Won 25, Drew 4, Lost 9, Scored 117, Conceded 36, Points 79.
