Paget Rangers will make their long awaited debut in the Midland Football League 1st Division on Saturday when the Bears welcome Chelmsley Town to the Trevor Brown Memorial Ground, kick off 3pm.

Following Paget’s promotion there has been a sense of anticipation ahead of this first game and it is fitting that our first opponents will be our friends from Chelmsley.

The match against Chelmsley Town could see several players make their competitive debuts for the club with Liam Norris likely to line up against the club he played for last season. Other new signings include Jake Locke (Black Country Rangers), Charlie Anagho-Ntamark (Walsall Wood) and Jarred Hill (Belper Town), meanwhile Callum Mallett (Knowle) is suspended and Lemaar Rhule (Continental Star) is away on holiday. Two further players, Rhys Boswell and Matthias Blake have returned to the club after a year away and will be in contention for this match.

Players who have left the club since last season include; Dean Morris (Romulus), Jeorge Smith (Boldmere St. Michaels), Matt Seeley & Reuben Wilson (Fairfield Villa), Mark Bellingham (Retired), David Arrowsmith (family commitments) and Darren Michael, the rest of last season’s double winning squad has been retained.
