The Bears eased to a 3-0 win over struggling Bolehall Swifts, in front of a crowd full of former Paget stars.
Paget had two chances to get ahead in the opening minutes earning a corner in the first minute and then winning a free kick in the second, the latter taken by McCauley Manning who’s effort caused carnage in the box as the Swifts goalkeeper fumbled the ball.
Further chances from Zach Brown and Bobby Moseley sandwiched Bolehall’s own dead-ball opportunities. However neither side could open the scoring.
The Wee Gers finally broke the deadlock after Bolehall managed to resist multiple Paget attempts on goal until Moseley’s shot was blocked into the path of Lemaar Rhule who fired the ball into the net.
Just two minutes later Swifts’ left-back Aaron O’Neill broke away but failed to level the score as he dragged his shot wide.
Paget barely got out of second gear in the second half and a better team could have punished them for it.
It looked like the score would remain 1-0 until the last 10 minutes of the game. Starting with Josh Benton the ball was passed up the pitch with effortlessness ending up at the feet of Manning, who found Billy Fagg in space. Megging Bolehall centre-back Reece Beacon to create room, Fagg then unleashed a low shot that Lee Paintain failed to reach doubling the score.
Minutes later Ross Dempster headed in Luke Bradley’s cross to give the Bears a cool three nil win.
