This weekend sees Paget make one of their longest journeys of the season as the Bears travel to Uttoxeter Town in the Total Motion Midland Football League 1st Division.
The reverse fixture at the Trevor Brown Memorial Ground was played on Non-League Day back in October, when a crowd of 132 saw Paget emerge with a two goals to nil victory. That day, Paget's goals were scored by Billy Fagg and Ross Dempster and the Bears will be looking to the latter again as a goal scoring threat with Ross having notched 7 goals in his last 8 appearances. Another striker on the prowl for the Bears will be prolific striker Daniel Carter who will be searching for his 100th goal, having reached his current tally of 99 goals in just 111 appearances.
Paget are on a mini unbeaten run of four games having recorded victories over Coventry Alvis and Stafford Town and draws against Heath Hayes and Brocton in our previous four outings. Paget's form on the whole since Christmas has been good and this has seen the Bears move up to 10th place in the table.
Uttoxeter have been hit badly by the weather in recent weeks, having only played one fixture since late January, an impressive 2-0 win at home to high-flying Leicester Road, James Curley grabbing both goals. Taking into account Uttoxeter's 5 games played since Christmas, they are also a team in good form. As well as the aforementioned home win over Leicester Road, Uttoxeter have recorded a 1-0 win over Bolehall Swifts, two 3-3 draws away at Leicester Road and at home to Brocton and suffered their only defeat in a 5-3 reverse against Heather St. Johns. Uttoxeter go into this game in 16th position with 29 points from their 28 games so far.
The match takes place on Saturday 10th March at the Oldfield Sports Club, Springfield Road, Uttoxeter, ST14 7JX. Kick off is 3pm.
