Cumbernauld arrived short of numbers so Duncan, Bennet and the two Alans were playing against their own team in the first half. It didn't take long for Duncan to finish off a well worked try from a number of phases which started in their own half.

It was the shot in the arm the home team needed and Euan Milligan scored in the corner from quick slick play between forwards and backs. Two more would follow before the break in a very even first half.

Half Time Paisley Colts 15 - 5 Cumbernauld

The second half started messy and Cumbernauld began to lose their discipline as the Anchor men piled on the pressure. James, Ben, Jay and Jessie worked hard for their new adopted team, but the Colts found the room and space to round their opposite numbers regularly and when Jessie tracked down an attacker, the support play was in place to finish off the moves.

The last ten minutes bore witness to a Cumbernauld outfit determined not to lose face and they woked hard in heavy difficult conditions to score two more tries. The last and best of which from a succession of penalties inside the Paisley 22 finished off by their big centre who had a fine game, getting his just desserts at the final whistle.

Final Score: Paisley Colts 46 - 17 Cumbernauld
