There’s something fishy going on at Papplewick & Linby CC this summer...

With the sides thriving on the pitch and announcing exciting developments off it, including a new sponsorship deal with locally owned licensed Fish & Chip restaurant chain, the Cod’s Scallops.

The Cod’s Scallops which currently has branches on Mansfield Road (Sherwood) and in Bramcote was voted the 3rd best Fish & Chip restaurant in the UK last year and has decided to support the Bassetlaw Championship club for 2017.

Chairman Neil South explained the importance of the Cod’s Scallops partnership:

“At Papplewick, we rely on local businesses to help support us and the relationship with the Cod’s Scallops is an exciting part of our development plan. Not only will it prove a cracking opportunity for our members to get behind a sponsor and show the benefits a business can have by supporting the club, it will also provide a much-needed boost to club funds.”

John Molnar, owner of the Cod’s Scallops added: “For us, it’s important to support the local community where we can, as they are our customers. We regularly give away fish and chips to homeless shelters in the winter and the relationship with Papplewick & Linby is another way we can help support a local club looking to do good in the area.”

Members of Papplewick & Linby are encouraged to support our sponsor, so please head down to Sherwood and try their delicious Fish & Chips. There are even some loyalty cards available for club members from behind the bar, so grab yours now!
