Pumas recognised for Respect & Fair Play and hospitality to match officials

Our Fabulous little (but not so little) club have been showered with accolades this week across social media and County FA twitter feeds as they picked up the 2016 McDonalds community award for RESPECT & FAIR PLAY.

The Huntingdonshire County FA award is nominated by the local leagues in the catchment area and a panel examines nominations and takes input from a variety of sources before coming to a decision.

Representatives from the club (Jason Holt - Fixtures secretary), Trevor Blackmore (Vice Chairman), & Ciaran McAuley (Chairman), went to St Neots Town FC to collect the award in a special ceremony hosted by the Huntingdonshire FA officials. The club were also nominated for the Charter Standard club of the year 2016. An award that we won in 2015. This year that award went to our friends at ICA. Chairman Ciaran McAuley & coach Darren Cray also received nominations for volunteer of the year. We'd like to thank all of you who took the time to complete the nomination forms.

Later the same week the club received another award from the Peterborough Referees Association (PFA) in recognition of the clubs hospitality & attitude to match day officials. Chairman of the PFA Rob Windle noted that “…. Pumas are a club that consistently provide support to referees, especially young referees finding their feet in the game. It is no co-incidence that league and PFA officials feel confident in placing young referees at Pumas games because we know they will be treated with the respect they deserve, congratulations to all players, parents and officials at Park Farm Pumas , please keep up the good work.”

On Receiving the awards this week Pumas chairman Ciaran McAuley had this to say. “We all know that our volunteers don’t get involved in youth football to win trophies or rewards, we do it for the enjoyment of the children. But I have to say that receiving awards of this type are extremely pleasing.

Being recognised for RESPECT & FAIR play and for supporting referees shows that we have a fantastic group of players, parents and staff that approach football in the correct way, with a positive attitude and a desire for the players, referees and officials to all have fun in football.”

Thank you all for your continued support. We know that as one club we will all continue to stand behind the vision of our club and continue to uphold the high standards that we have set ourselves.
