Ciaran McAuley wins Civic award for Contribution to Sport

Now in their second year the Peterborough City Council Civic awards are a scheme which aims to recognise residents, groups, organisations and businesses that have made a real difference to their local community. The awards are a small way that we can say a big thank you as a city to people who go out of their way to help others and recognise the great work that they do.

Cllr Chris Harper commented that “Ciaran was given the award for founding the Park Farm Football Club/Academy, the vision for which is to provide high quality football coaching to players of all abilities in Stanground and the wider Peterborough area. The club provides an opportunity for children to learn valuable life skills, such as teamwork, fair play, sportsmanship and respect. Further to this, Ciaran was also instrumental in setting up the new Cardea Community Sports Association.”

On receiving the award Ciaran noted that “...this was a huge honour & very humbling. I am very grateful and I really appreciate the recognition for the hard work that has gone into creating Park Farm Pumas. I am hugely proud of what we have achieved so far but it is very much a big team effort. I could not do anything without our fabulous management & coaching team, they are all true leaders in the community and I am very lucky to work with them all.”
