Guidance on weather conditions and cancellations processes

Hi all,

I'm afraid we have had to cancel tonight's (7/01/2016) training. St John Fisher school called this morning and sais that the pitch was not playable to the excessive rainfall. Areas of the pitch had large patches of standing water and the pitch was deemed unsafe. We should be back training there next week as usual.

_________

As we know the weather conditions are difficult for playing football at this time but I have to stress hat no training or matches are cancelled / postponed until you a informed by the relevant coach. So please do not make decisions for your child not to play until having a conversation with the relevant coach.

Games will only be cancelled postponed after a pitch inspection on the day of the game. This process involves consultation with Ciaran & Trevor and the relevant coaches playing their games. Where possible the referee and opposition will also be included in this conversation. So as you can imagine this call will be made as late as possible to give he game every chance to go ahead as planned.

Where the weather is so severe (e.g. snowfall that we can't clear or rainfall resulting in severely waterlogged pitch), we may be able to make the call earlier to ensure we retain the integrity and quality of the playing surface for future games through to the end of he season.

Again this will be the call of Trevor & Ciaran in discussion with the relevant coach.

So please keep in close communication with the relevant coach and please keep checking the website for details - it is the easiest method of communicating to such a large audience.

Many thanks

Pumas Management team
