It’s game on in the Toolstation NCEL League Cup Third Round at Green Lane on Wednesday night, when Division One form team Glasshoughton Welfare travel down from Castleford to tackle a Parkgate side still smarting from their heavy home defeat to Harrogate Railway Athletic on Saturday –and Steelmen Manager Billy Fox is anticipating a tough night, writes Colin Muncie for the Parkgate FC website.
Foxy told us that his recent strengthening means that he’ll have no option but to ring the changes on Wednesday “I am expecting a really difficult game against Glasshoughton on Wednesday night. They are in tremendous form and the fact that we have signed so many players in December equates to the fact that several of our players are cup tied -as they have already played in the competition”.

Foxy is hoping that any incoming squad members will take their opportunities on the night ahead of another difficult away day at the weekend. “It’s the perfect chance after Saturday’s defeat for the lads that are coming in to stay in the side for when we visit Penistone next Saturday” he said.
