It was a fantastic afternoon of fun, celebration and recognition for the players, volunteers , parents and coaches associated with Greasborough Youth FC as they held their end-of season awards ceremony at the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham yesterday, writes Colin Muncie for the Parkgate FC Website and the Bootiful Game.
At the event, expertly compared by Greasborough Chairman and Parkgate FC Committee member Lee Morris the club recognised a fantastic season at every level from Under 7’s to Under 16’s including a Girl’s Under-10’s squad.
Each coach took the time to pay tribute to every player –they all received an award-in a presentation programme which included Player’s Player, Manager’s Players and Parent’s Player of the Year. The event also featured a disco, a bouncy castle and generous raffle prizes.
Lee took time out to reflect on the fact that many of the Under-16’s recognised yesterday will move up to the Parkgate Under-18’s squad, five of whom were involved with the Senior players at the end of the NCEL season just finished.
In recognition of his Chairmanship, Lee received a scrapbook reflecting on his successful years with Greasborough.
