Parkgate played two games in five hours this weekend as Doug took charge at home to see the Steelmen face Rotherham united and Gary Simpson took a side to Teversal to compete against Staveley Miners in the Teversal Tournament Final.
In the end Parkgate lost out in both games but positives can be taken out of both matches as a stretched squad competed well both home and away.
At Roundwood over 800 fans filled Roundwood in the strangely good weather to enjoy a great game against Rotherham United. The Millers brought a very strong side, possibly their strongest, and although the Millers ran out comfortable winners Parkgate made a great show of themselves and caused Rotherham problems on several occasions.
We have many great photos from the day that will be uploaded later today.
At Teversal Parkgate's second team of the day ended up losing out 2-0 to Staveley in the tournament final. A youthful side including a few of our Under 19's squad competed well and the performance bodes well for the future.
Parkgate's NCEL Fixtures are due out later today, they'll be posted on the website as soon as they are published.
