I want it to go on record that Foxy and his lads were superb. .....

After the game Rangers Manager Bill Gill spoke to Colin Muncie about the night's football.
“Sixteen-year-old Reggie (Waud) got us on our way with a superb strike outside the box bottom corner. Full credit to our boys under terrible conditions; they dug in and saw the game off. It could have been more on another day, but I would have taken a one-nil. The lads are a little battered and bruised at the minute; we need to recover now for 36 hours and brush ourselves down and go again on Thursday.
Bill paid a generous tribute to Parkgate. “I want it to go on record that Foxy and his lads were superb. They didn't stop all night, tried to play football the right way and caused some anxious moments when they got their well- taken goal.”
“All the best to them with their plans next season”.
