These are difficult days for Parkgate Manager Graham Nicholas

These are difficult days for Parkgate Manager Graham Nicholas as he prepares to welcome eleventh-placed Garforth Town to Roundwood today - and with the club haemorrhaging playing staff, Graham is resigned to an extensive rebuilding process, and needs results to help convince potential signings that Green Lane is a good career move. Graham said “It's been very frustrating losing several players again. Maltby have signed five of our players and Ossett Albion have taken two. We are going through a transitional period whereby most of the old players have now gone and we are now looking to build a successful squad. However, although targets have been identified it's now trying to convince these key players that Parkgate FC is the club to sign for”.
Graham remains upbeat about his squad, but accepts that it doesn’t run deep enough.” I feel we have some good players”, he said “and a good dressing room. However, we do need to add more quality”.
The Steelmen boss casts a wary eye overtoday’s visitors-a club for which he has great admiration. He said” Today's game against Garforth will be tough.... they are on a good run and confidence is high. I will be expecting a reaction from my players following Wednesday's loss to Albion. We will be concentrating on playing to our strengths and playing our way”.
“We are looking forward to the fixture and for me personally I greatly respect all the work, progress and development that Garforth Town Football Club have made”.
