Parkgate FC can today confirm the signing of Sheffield United’s Academy striker Sam Ackroyd. Sam has agreed to join the Steelmen on short term work experience which both clubs feel will aid and benefit Sam’s development as a player.

Sam joins the club with experience of both Youth and Development level football at Sheffield United’s Academy and has frequently scored goals this season already. Described as an “excellent” finisher by his coaches at the club, the Steelmen hope Sam can hit the ground running at NCEL level. Parkgate Player-Coach Ben Starosta, a coach himself at The Blades Academy has been instrumental in highlighting the potential of Sam and has worked tirelessly this week to secure his signature in time for Saturdays game.

Sam goes straight into the squad for the away fixture vs Shirebrook this weekend.
