Park House U18/U16s v Italian U18s

8 months ago By Graham Lineker

Strong performance from the Italians took the spoils

What a fantastic day on Saturday when Park House hosted an Italian team from Milan,
Lyons Settimo Milanese.

Although they had just arrived at the club at 10:00 they were definitely up for there first ever tour!

The Lyons had the stronger producing some quality rugby, they kept us pinned in our 22 for the first 5 minutes our defence held strong until the broke over for a score. 0 v 5.

Straight from the kick off Park put pressure on with inter play between the forward and backs we managed to create a ruck just inside the 5m line, Jacko made a break down the blind side and delayed his pass to Connor who muscled his way over the line for our first try. 5 v 5

The Lyons showed great skill from the restart passing the ball down their back line enabling their forwards to dominate in the scrum to push us back towards our line with there No 8 scoring a well worked try. Converted 5 v 12

Thats how the first half finished!

The second half started strong for Park with great work by both forwards and backs, we managed to create a ruck close to there line enabling Jacko to make break and with a back handed pass to Mac enabled him to who score. Frankie converted 12 v 12

Unfortunately for Park thats where our scoring finished the Lyons dominated the rest of the game show great handling skill both in the forwards and the backs. This culminated in a well worked try scored the corner by the Lyon 15. Converted 12 v 19

Park battled hard but were no match for the well drilled Lyons team, who scored 3 more tries ending with a score of 12 v 38

I'd like to thank everyone involved, I think you'll agree what a fantastic day.

I'd also like to thank Alex Caramella for arranging this in the first place, hopefully we can continue this Partnership in the future and have a return match next year in Milan!
