Park House FC Match Report
This week we had the long journey to Westcombe Park situated within the Orpington Area. A well established club, with a large amount of teams from early age to Senior, both Male and Female.
As we all turn up in our usual manner, bleary eyed and 15 mins before kick off, we get down to the business of getting all the boys together for a quick 10 min warm up, juice break and ready for the game.
Westcombe kick off and from the start Park House applied the pressure continuously for the first 10 mins of the game, but resistance from Westcombe and some great tackling, rucking and mauling by both teams broke down at the 12 min point when the ball was popped down the line to the “Tornado” also known as Kyle for the first point. 1-0
A minute later Westcombe break through and touch down – Unfortunately in the dead ball area – No Score
Two mins later I and other parents witnessed probably the highlight of the game, the one and only “Eddie” whose mother must be “Darcey Bussell”, Eddie shimmying past 3 players, chipped the ball over two of them, caught it and popped it to the ever waiting Ollie, who sprinted into the corner for number 2 – “AMAZING Geniussssssss”
15 Min point it was number 3 for Park House, with Luke applying his rugby brain, going past 2 players sideways, seeing the line and sprinting at least 20 yards to the line. “”If Jason sees this – it was the full length of the pitch twice!!””.
At the 16 min point Westcombe caught us out, maybe a little over confident “maybe”, but they made a great break nonetheless and made it 3-1
18 min point our very own “Danny Care” in the grown up version of Tayler, picks the ball up at the back of the scrum, flies around the blind side and makes it 4-1, “text book brilliance”.
On the stroke of half time Tayler again collects the ball after some great team passing and mauling and goes over again to make it 5-1 at half time.
Team talk given at half time – Slim & Shady aka (M&M), have got big smiles on their face, they are now seeing the benefits of their “hard work” paying off!! – Could the second half be any more exciting!! Well let’s see.
Or was it something to do with the Magic Tape around the boys boots, we will never know!!
Park House kick off by Ollie was a great start just dropping over the final Westcombe player. PH follow up straight away and rucks the ball out. Hugo in waiting gets the ball and makes a fantastic run to go over and make it 6-1.
@22 mins Westcome caught us asleep again and make it 6-2 a great run down the right hand side to the corner.
@27 mins Kyle the Leopard is back in the game, not that he has been off, but the ball wasn’t coming out as much as he would have liked, this is mainly down to the large amount of rucking and mauling though. Anyway another text book move by Kyle puts the gap to 7-2 in PH Favour.
3 mins later westcombe came back at the 30 min point making it 7-3.
Again Kyle breaks and makes it 8-3, well that’s what we thought, but the try was disallowed (still 7-3 then).
Again a min later and also on the 35 min Westcombe pushed forward with some great work making it 7-4 then 7-5. This was getting extremely interesting now and Unless I missed something I believe they made some tactical changes and brought on a couple of the ringers, never the less PH was up for it and culled the mood, with you got it “Kyle the Leopard”, sharpening his claws again for another great break to make it 8-5.
@ 38 mins Westcombe kept pressurising and gained another great point now 8 –6.
Whoa slow down guys this was not in the script!!.
However, we need not worry, time was on our side and yet again just before the final whistle Kyle the tornado gets the ball and runs the full length of the pitch to touch down in the corner. Pretty much like Luke’s try – Clare !! :p
Wally of the week – Kyle –
None of us could understand why his try was disallowed, even sticking up for him it looked absolutely a genuine try!!. Not even Kyle could understand why……… So we thought.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is one fundamental requirement of scoring a try Kyle. That is ……… Touching the ball on the ground in the Try area!!!!!
Kyle finally admitted that he didn’t put the ball down. This is the one Job he needed to do……. Lol – Therefore a well-earned Bib of Shame, for someone who has scored 7 tries in two outings, it’s not too much to ask :p
A special note to say thanks to the Pinky family for supporting the team!
Final Score 9-6
