Park House FC Match Report
It was like wuthering heights on an early fresh morning with the mist floating across the Park and the Sirens of the police cars bleating as they go past.

The boys all gathered in good time and “M”-Slim without “M” Shady, due to other commitments and Ollie out with an Eye infection, took the boys through their warm up process. The boys were in good spirit after coming off the back of their previous win.

Still without the Pinky twins or now to be known as the “Pinky Trio” :- Finn the Toe / Brandon Finger & Now Harry the Toe, we wish you all a very speedy recovery and hope that you are back really soon. We miss you Boys!!

The warm up completed and the boys are ready for the off……

First Period:- 20 mins

Park House kicks off with a great drop out from our very own Eddie “Darcey” Trebess, straight down the middle, collected by the 7oaks boys and the game had started, we were under attack with some good movement by them, however the sheer determination of the PH boys meant that resistance was futile and
Panther Kyle @ 2.5 mins took the ball from inside our own half and blasted past the majority of Sevenoaks and touched down in the corner. 1 – 0

The game continued much like the first couple of minutes with Ruck & Maul after Ruck and Maul, which 7oaks were winning the majority of!! With the odd scrum formed at even contest.

@10 mins into the first period some outstanding play by the PH boys allowed Luke “Nuke” to show his skills, strength and shimmy’ to go in and make it 2-0 to PH.

@14 Mins the “Panther” Kyle sharpens his claws and commits to tackle after tackle, finally receiving the ball from great movement by both the forwards with some outstanding tackling and rucking by “Owen”, all the way down the line again to Kyle to try and beat Usain bolts 40 metre speed to touch down again.

I think he did!!!!

From now on we see a 7oaks team coming to grips and pull back 2 great well-earned points at the 17 and 19 min points to go into half time:-

Park House FC 3 – 2 Sevenoaks RFC

A Great strong effort by both teams in the first period more excitement to come we shall see!!

Second Period:- 15 mins

7Oaks kicked off after changing their entire team during the break and bringing on 11yr olds above 6ft – oh dear what is going to happen.

Well “Darcey” Trebess @21 mins does his usual fantastic movement after receiving the ball from the Ruck and sprints down the blind side jinking past a number of the 7Oaks boys and touches down in the corner. Great movement, great teamwork and fantastic stamina and speed by Eddie. 4-2 to Park House at this point.

Within 3 mins 7oaks started to use the height and strength of the new team!!!!! At 22 & 24 and again at 25 mins to make it 4 – 5 to 7Oaks

Oh Oh…. what is happening this isn’t right PH boys are much better than this. Aha no need to worry, – Our very own “Danny Care” Tayler again doing his work and breaks off around the blind side and goes in the corner after some great looping work with Eddie – Geniusssssssssss !!!!! now 5 - 5

The air was tense with anticipation for the next 8 mins with PH having the upper hand with some firm but fair judgement calls by the referee ”enforced the laws of the game by removing a number of 7Oaks boys for a bit of over zealousness in the rucks and mauls. Good Shout !!!, however they brought on a couple of other tall chaps to replace them and at 33 & 34 mins 7Oaks took control of the game to make it 5 – 7 at the end of the second period.

Team Talk Team Talk Team Talk Team Talk Team Talk

The lad’s heads were down at the end of this period and suffice to say a number of the parents were a little dismayed with what has just happened.

Team Talk Team Talk Team Talk Team Talk Team Talk

Whatever happened during that Team Talk, hit the spot. I was there during the chat and the boys were a little upset, but I tell you what, they were not going to suffer it for long, the were determined, anxious and ready to rock and roll with the bigger boys. Wah Ha ha ha ha !!!!!

Third Period:- 15 mins

Started off very much like the first period @ 39 mins the “Panther” Kyle receives the ball from some great set piece from the whole team and I mean the whole team, to take the ball from our 10m line, run the loop and again touches down in the corner. – Wow this is getting really exciting now making it 6 – 7

It calms down a bit for the next few minutes, well I say calmed it didn’t really, we had a set piece in their half, Tayler took it quickly and Luke was through only for the whistle to go with one of the 7Oaks boys not wanting to play anymore, so a substitution was made. Oh dear another day hey Luke.

The game continues with some great too’ing and Fro’ing both sides of the park with some fantastic tackle and rucking by all the team. They knew from the Team Talk, That they had to keep pushing and working as a Team, confident and willing to push the extra mile together.

@ 47 mins After the continuous hard work by the boys, Kyle Again receives the ball and breaks through to even up the score 7 – 7

You could see in the eyes of the boys, they were not going to give up on this. They were determined and not going to let TWO teams Beat them, whilst we only had our 12 pack to pitch against!!

As I said earlier Resistance is Futile.

@ 49 mins after continuous pressure applied by our boys, hard tackling, Rucking and Mauling, the Panthers claws are finally sharpened for one more explosive jaunt, receiving the ball from a well battled maul, all the way down the line, Kyle sees the line and no-one was more determined than him, the rest of the team and parents, that he was going to make it in the corner.

Well he did and it was fantastic to see the whole team work as one to make this happen

Final Score

Park House 8 – 7 Sevenoaks

Our boys showed the Meaning of “True Grit”.

They showed Fortitude and Determination, above all “TeamWork”
