A New Chapter

This week we played our final game of the LFA Summer League (5 a side) and finished a creditable 3rd behind two teams made up of “elite players”. This was a new undertaking for us as team and on the main we have viewed the venture as an enjoyable success.

In the world of football development there is a saying “if you focus on results you will never change ~ if you focus on change you will get results” and for this campaign there is a significant amount of changes being made at the moment.

On the playing front we have had a few players leave and on the same token we have brought in new faces into the squad and we have changed our training structure with Paul joining the coaching staff.

Besides changes in personnel on and off the pitch the next noticeable alterations will be on match-days, the players will have a new playing kit thanks to our new sponsor Bulmer's Original and I can confirm that as a club, we are also going supplement the new kit, with a matching tracksuit tops and polo shirts.

On match-days, regulars to our home matches will also observe that we have invested in the raising of the profile of our club's FA respect programme, with banner's and attention boards purchased to be used in conjunction with the spectator zone's.

This week we have three games in eight days and peeps may hear me quote “performance over result”, this basically means I will be ignoring the result – win lose or draw and try and focus my attention on “threats and challenges” part of the game thus allowing me to monitor the "performance trends" of the team over the three games.

Not much more to say except have a good weekend and I will see the Parkwood faithful on Sunday

Andy
