U17's National's Plate
A very wet Sunday morning saw Paviors U17's take on Birmingham/Solihull in the National Plate quarter finals. It was a very fiercely fought game that was held up for 15 minutes early in the first half with an injury to one of the Bees players that saw him taken to hospital - we wish the player a speedy recovery. After temporarily switching pitches due to the injury Pavs opened the scoring on 20 minutes with an excellent try by Sam Garrett which was converted by Kenny (7-0). Birmingham/ Sollihull responded 10 minutes later with an unconverted try taking the score into half time at 7-5.
The second half started back on the first team pitch and Pav's missed a penalty kick. We responded to this 2 minutes later with Jordan scoring a well worked try that we weren't able to convert (12-5). Birmingham/ Solihull worked hard and answered our score with a converted try 5 minutes later (12-12). Both teams tried hard for the last few minutes but neither team were able to add to their score taking the final score to 12-12. What felt like an advantage getting the home draw proved at the end of the game to be Pavs downfall as Birmingham/Solihull went through to the semi-finals as the away team. It was a hard fought game in difficult conditions with both teams letting discipline slip resulting in both teams getting a yellow and a red card.
FINAL SCORE : PAVIORS 12 - BIRMINGHAM/SOLIHULL 12.
