With the season only weeks away I would just like to go on record in thanking 4 senior players who have moved on to other clubs for their services to Paviors.
Danny Graney has been a member of the 1st XV for 6 seasons now, and in that time he has been one of the most dedicated members of the squad - no better illustrated than last season when he played more games and attended more training sessions than any other player. Danny has moved to South Leicester to play in the National 3 Midlands League.
Greg Hill has been an integral part of the senior set up for many years and last year captained the 2nd XV in what was arguably their best season ever. In the twilight of his playing career Greg has found it increasingly difficult to train due to work and family commitments and has decided to move to West Bridgford, which is nearer to the family home. Greg will of course still be very much evident on Sundays as he coaches the mini's.
Likewise, Ash Watts has also decided to move to West Bridgford. 'Barrell' was an extremely popular member of the seniors, a great guy to have around, a superb motivator and a lively performer on the pitch.
Finally, and arguably the biggest loss to the squad is the departure of Liam Annabel to Mansfield. Having been a 2nd XV regular for many seasons, having moved to the front row at the back end of last season Liam made the break through into the 1's featuring in 8 games. Ben Buxton and the other members of the coaching staff had high hopes for him ahead of the new season.
We wish you all great success in the season ahead, and will always welcome your visits to Burntstump. Keep in touch!
Again, thank you to all these players.
