Fixtures
Tomorrow is the big local derby when Peebles RFC – sponsored by Glenrath Farms – face local rivals Biggar in BT National League 1 – kick off at the Gytes is 3:00pm. Peebles v Biggar games have always been very keenly contested affairs both in terms of physicality and skill. This match will be no exception given that Alan Warnock has returned to his roots and will be especially keen to put one over on his old Peebles mates. This will be another big test for Gavin and Drew’s squad.
This match is sponsored by Glenrath Farms.
The snack van will as usual be in operation at the end of the ground near the changing rooms with their usual varied menu of rolls and drinks..

Match Reports
Peebles RFC – sponsored by Glenrath Farms – made the long journey up to Aberdeen for their BT National League 1 fixture with Aberdeen Grammar Rugby and, to the delight of coaches Gavin Kerr and Drew Moore along with the small band of dedicated travelling fans, returned with a 31 – 21 victory.
The seconds – sponsored by FIRST XV and rugbystuff.com – had a big win against Kelso A in BT Reserve League East 1 at Hay Lodge Park – the final score 81 – 14.
With the prospect of both teams facing a blank Saturday, Peebles Colts, sponsored by BARC Coach Hire, took on Allan Glen RFC U18’s in what proved to be a highly entertaining friendly match. The Wee Pees got off to their traditional slow start and found themselves 14 points adrift within eight minutes to the visitors fast moving and powerful play.
Two tries from Chris Scott and James Dow duly converted by Buster Davidson leveled the match and from that point on Peebles took control, going off at half time with the score sitting at 19 -17. Two tries for the home side, both successfully converted against one unconverted for the visitors in the second half gave the home side victory by 33 points to 22. This was an absolute cracker of a match, played in the best of spirits with some great rugby on display from both sides.
A vote of thanks has to go to Allan Glen’s players and supporters for making the trip through – we’re already looking forward to the return fixture - and to Colin Thomson for volunteering his services as referee.
