High School will meet Morrison's Academy at Murrayfield on Tuesday 19th March

Peebles HS 1st XV emulated three other Border Schools this week when the Senior rugby squad made it to the final of a Dolphin Brewin Schools Competition.

Galashiels Academy have made it to the final of the U18 Plate, Jedburgh GS the final of the U16 plate and Selkirk HS the final of the U16 Bowl.

Peebles took on Williamwood HS from East Renfrewshire. In glorious Spring conditions, Captain Scott Halliday opened the scoring with a telling break after 20 minutes and stand off Murray Brown converted. Peebles soon went 12 points to the good after some fine forward play allowed the whole pack to drive over. Williamwood roared back into the tie with a catch from a kick off allowing their sharp winger to power to the line. A fine kick off catch of his own allowed Halliday to restore a 12 point lead. Halliday was playing a true Captain's role as he went over for his hat trick and on the half Jeremy Willems added Peebles fifth score. Williamwood tackled well in the second period and it was only the dancing feet of Craig Pringle who breached the Renfrewshire line. Brown adding his third conversion. Final score 36:7 in an entertaining Brewin Dolphin semifinal.

Peebles now play Morrison's Academy, Crieff at Murrayfield on Tuesday 19th March with a 6pm kick off.

Galashiels Academy play straight after (1945 ko) in their U18 Final v Marr College, Troon.
