The game did not echo last year's final between the two (when Caerphilly won 42-8), being a low scoring, tight affair with only a single try in the match. Captain Matthew 'toothless' Flanagan (Penallta) popped over from the back of a ruck in typical scrum half fashion to score for Caerphilly in the first half. Pembrokeshire slotted a penalty to come back to 7 - 3 at half time.
The defensive effort by Caerphilly contained their well matched opponents and the second half was scoreless as both sides failed to cross the line. Full time score Caerphilly 7 Pembrokeshire 3
Both sides drew on a number of local clubs for their squads and it was a pleasure, as always to watch these youngsters play on the famous Cardiff Arms Park.
