A game played in wet windy conditions saw Church concede four poor goals in the first half. The first, in under ten seconds, saw goalie Adam Rhodes lobbed almost directly from the kick off and deceived by the bounce. Ollie Fearon and Ash Ellis pulled two back for Church before half time. Credit should go to the players for their fight back in the a second half which saw Ash Ellis and Lewis Dickinson pull back to four each but it wasn’t to be as Danny Norton scored Selby Town’s winner in the sixth minute of time added on.
After the game Church Manager Ian Richards Said,
“This was an excellent fight back by the players in the second half but the damage was done in the first thirty minutes by conceding four extremely poor goals. You cannot legislate for the first nor can you understand the ref’s poor performance tonight, but you can’t concede five goals and expect to win. We have to remain positive and hope we can sneak a place in the playoffs”

Credit due to both sides for paying good football in wintery difficult conditions. Church's goal came on 61 minutes from Tim Council.
AFC Man of the Match was awarded to Joe Cross for excellent defensive and forward play. This week's Numpty of the week was scorer Tim Council for being sent off.
After the game Church's assistant manager Mark Wetton said,
"This was a great three points won in difficult conditions”
