Penrith Stars entertained Castletown in an U9 fixture in a very entertaining end to end game.
Castletown deservedly raced into a two goal lead, playing some superb passing football.
Penrith could have found themselves further adrift but for some superb saves from their keeper Brendan Campbell.
Stars pulled a goal back just before half time when they were awarded a free kick half way into the Castletown half. Upstepped Cory Tomkinson who thundered an unstoppable right foot shot into the top right hand corner.
The second half was an explosive afair with some great tackles going in and both goalkeepers making some fantastic blocks.
Stars got their equaliser when after good work from Callum, that man Tomkinson was there to get the final touch.
Both teams pushed forward looking for a 3rd goal but with good defending it finished Penrith Stars 2 Castletown 2

Penrith AFC U10's played their first game since the Christmas break when they entertained a strong Cockermouth Real team at Frenchfields.
Starting the game with another full strength squad, Penrith began the game playing with energy and confidence. Quick passing and movement meant they finished the half in a strong position.
The breakthrough came in the second half when Robin Taylor, who had an excellent game, scored from a corner via a slight deflection.
Penrith held out for a deserved victory with the help of a brilliant collective performance from the defence.
Man of the Match, Matthew Austin, let nothing through and showed great composure on the ball.

Penrith AFC Wolves 2 v 1 Cockermouth Dynamo

After a five week break, the Wolves returned to league action at home to a well matched Cockermouth side
Penrith played the better football and always looked dangerous, but Cockermouth matched them through strength and speed, Wolves took the lead just before half time, a lofted ball collected well by Luke Kemp. His driving run taking him between two defenders before rounding the keeper and sliding the ball home.
Cockermouth pressed hard following the restart, a well deserved equaliser by Keiron Mcklusky, who created enough space for himself to get a curling shot off that dipped neatly under the crossbar. Penrith responded well, man of the match James Atkinson a constant thorn down the left wing playing a through ball to the Wolves top scorer Luke Leonard who beat the keeper low from what seemed an impossible angle.

Penrith Panthers hosted Castletown Rangers on a very cold afternoon at Frenchfield.
Panthers had plenty of the early ball and went ahead when man of the match Edward Wright raced down the left hand side and drilled a superb shot past the keeper.
Rangers were soon back level as a corner came in and Harry Trussell got the final touch as the ball looped over the line.
Panthers continue to dominate possession but the Rangers defence were winning plenty of tackles and were showing great resilience.
5 minutes before half time Reon Morrison picked the ball up and danced past 4 defenders before slotting the ball past the impressive Castletown goalkeeper.
Finlay Awde, Callum Wills and Ben Dargue all had goal bound shots superbly saved in the first half.
Panthers extended their lead through Wright early after the restart with a very similar goal to his first. Another sublime finish.
Then Morrison rounded off the scoring again jigging his way past the Rangers defence and slotting home.
Special mention must go to the Castletown goalkeeper who made at least half a dozen truly world class saves.

Penrith AFC U16s
We travelled to The Ranch, Workington hoping to get 3 points and edge us closer to our opponents in a 1st vs 2nd contest with only 5 points seperating the two sides! With new signing from Carlisle United Luke Hunter making his debut!!

It was a extremely windy wet day and although this was the case Penrith started the brighter with Danny Hall rattling the post from a shot outside the box!
But from there onwards the wind played a massive part in the game , the lads not using it to a benefit. Workington were by far the better side from there onwards scoring 5! We go again and do our best to close the gap hoping results go our way! Final score 5-0!

Man of Match Chris Mills
