U14 Training and events
Training got off to a great start last week with nearly 30 boys turning up all ready to be put through their paces. Training will continue to take place at the same time every Thursday (5:30-7:00pm). Could the boys remember to bring a gum shield and boots and trainers (best to wear trainers if the ground is hard !)
The club is still looking for volunteers to help direct traffic to parking spaces at the Penrith show this coming weekend of 28th July. – this brings much needed funds into the club. Volunteers are required anytime between 7:30am and 3pm so if anyone fancies helping out for an hour or so on the day please let Jim Donald know by emailing him on jwdjoiner@btinternet.com - and it means you get free entry to the show!
Also – don’t forget that there will be a family fun day at the club on the weekend of 4th and 5th August. The event starts at 10am on the Saturday with stalls, giant slides, bouncy castle, plus a bungee jump, as well as other activities. There will also be an evening event for which there is a charge of £25 per head with food and a band. On the Sunday a car boot sale is planned along with a truck pull for which teams are welcome to enter. Of course, volunteers for any of this would be welcome but also it will be a great day out on the Saturday and hopefully it will raise more than the £6000 it did a couple of years ago.
