Can The Main get back to winning ways?

This Saturday Percy Main will return to league action following back to back defeats against Newcastle University and Lindisfarne CP during the last fortnight and will look to return to winning ways to further strengthen our position at the top of the Northern Alliance First Division table.

The game will see The Main complete two thirds of the league season with the league championship and promotion still the aim.

The sides met at Hexham's Wentworth Park base on November 8th, with Percy Main in a similar position, having lost the 3 previous games, but the trend was reversed when Jorge Bollado on his debut, came off the bench to net an 85th minute winner, with a canny strike from just outside the area.

Hexham still managed to hit the post after that, but The Main held on to claim a perhaps fortunate 3 points, which were gratefully received!

As usual, every team we seem to play of late, seem to be hitting a bit of firm and Hexham are no different having beaten Cullercoats and Newbiggin by the same 2-1 scoreline during their last 2 run outs (doing us a bit of a favour in the meantime, I might add!) So they will no doubt fancy their chances against another of the division's top sides.

Second placed Newbiggin are in Minor Cup action and face Hazelrigg of the Tyneside Amateur league.

This Saturday, Percy Main are also set to announce a new main sponsor at the club, whose name will appear on both home and away strips, on the website and around the ground and pavilion.

It is hoped that the link up with ADS Aircon Ltd of Wallsend will be a long running association which will be beneficial to both parties, thanks to Tony Short of ADS, hopefully we'll be seeing around the ground in the near future.

As always, please support the club's sponsors wherever possible.

Kick off at The Field of Dreams is 2pm, all welcome, programmes, Percy Bistro open as usual, with the usual culinary delights.........
