Steve Coxon

We were sad to hear of the death yesterday of Steve Coxon, the Gateshead Rutherford secretary and just about everything else at his club.

Steve had been a great servant to Rutherford, over many years, but other than that he was well known in local football circles as a true gent and a great sportsman who was a 'good egg' and had time for everybody. He was a regular visitor to Purvis Park when his side were playing or at our ground during any of the Northern Alliance's cup finals.

A popular man who will be sorely missed - thoughts with those who were close.
