Perthshire Vs Angus

Perthshire with their 1st Home fixture of the season played their first game against a willing and eager Angus side. Straight from kick off there were some good opportunities we made but in the end we never took them.
Angus had more than half the possession in the game and their set pieces proved difficult for the lads. A nice inside pop from their fly half gave some of the bigger and stronger lads more space to go straight through our defensive line. From the coaches point of the view tackling was the thing we should have worked more on. In the end Angus were too strong in the forward's part of the game and eventually won the game 22-5.

Perthshire Vs Aberdeen Grammar

This game was by far the best game we played this day. Our tackling and defence was improved more and a brilliant try saving tackle from Dean Orr stopped the rampaging backrower 5 metres from the line.
Our hands let us down this time with us taking the ball into contact and then throwing it away or the other team intercepting the ball.
Coaches Ross Munro and Euan Mcfarlane were giving it their 100% support from the touchlines.
In the end Aberdeen Grammar won the tournament with 2 wins under their belt and no losses.
Coming from my perspective defence and handling need to be worked more and the contact area as well.

A big thanks to all the boys who took part and for being great hosts to the other teams after both games.
We look forward to our next home game against Ayr on the 21st of October

C'mon Shire!
