Perthshire Rugby Statement 28.09.18
Hillfoots RFC Rugby Festival
I was alarmed to hear of the many reports of illness among our young players and family members following our attendance at Hillfoots rugby festival last Sunday. I wish to take this opportunity to reassure you that this matter has been given the utmost attention by myself from the time of the first report of illness at the start of the week. I have been liaising on behalf of Perthshire Rugby with the appropriate authorities investigating the matter, namely Public Health Medicine at NHS Forth Valley and Clackmannanshire Council Environmental Health team, throughout this week to ensure the full extent of illness unfortunately endured is reported fully and accurately.
To the best of our knowledge, reports of illness have been limited to those players and family members that attended the Festival of Rugby at Hillfoots RFC on Sunday 23rd September. I have asked Mini Section Team Managers to forward the questionnaires provided by the Public Health Consultant Doctor to parents and request that all parents and guardians that attended the rugby festival complete the document and return as directed as soon as possible whether ill or not.
I have asked to be kept up to date as regards the investigation by those authorities & Hillfoots RFC and once any further details are confirmed, I shall forward to Team Managers for circulation to parents and guardians.
In the meantime, I wish to thank all parents and guardians for your patience and cooperation in relation to this matter in what have been very difficult and challenging circumstances.
